Matthew Goodwin, born and raised in Chesapeake, VA, graduated in 2021 with a B.S. in Chemistry from the College of William and Mary. At William and Mary, he worked under the guidance of Dr. Elizabeth Harbron studying the photochemistry of conjugated polymer nanoparticles and the fluorescence of many different classes of organic dyes. After graduating he began his graduate career at UNC and joined the Meyer lab in November 2021, where he is currently studying photochemical halide oxidation using iridium polypyridyl photocatalysts. In his free time, Matthew enjoys rooting for the Carolina Panthers, listening to good music, and going to the beach.
